Brother Bako Garba

Total Bible for the Total Child Foundation was started by Brother Bako Garba, son of the late Rev. Nagaba Garba, who served with ECWA. God deeply burdened Brother Bako for children who live all around us, and all over the world, controlled by the devil and his agents, with no one to help them; they need the Saviour and someone to guide, equip and disciple them.

God opened the eyes of Brother Bako to these challenges in 2000 at Rafin Dadi village in Doguwa L.G.A, Kano state. This was when a Muslim man took away the wife of an ECWA pastor and married her. God also opened his eyes to see our brothers and sisters who have been deceived into joining other religion that will not save them. This is because of their shallow knowledge of Christ and His Word.

We have neglected the great commandment that we should train our children the way they should live, so that when they grow, they will not depart from it.

The Lord drew the attention of Brother Bako to how unbelievers are training their children, making it difficult to lead them to Christ.

In the year 2000, Brother Bako, out of God’s grace, decided to pray and fast that God should use him for the rest of his life. He prayed and fasted for 30 days on the mountains in Doguwa, Kano State, with the counsel of the ECWA pastor in the area. At the end of his prayers, he was moved to serve in the Children Ministry for the rest of his life.

He began a Bible lesson with 7 children in his compound in Rafin Dadi, Kano State. He desired to give children an opportunity to know Christ as their Saviour and that they may be set free from the guilt of their sin. And also to equip them with the word and lead them to memorise it as God commanded us to His glory and honour.

Before the end of the year Brother Bako trained 75 children in that village, and a lot of children have been saved. Parents saw changes and God at work in the lives of their children. He served for two years in that village, after which he visited his father in Garun Kurama, Saminaka, Kaduna State. The Lord opened his eyes to see how the devil was dominating the village with another religion. Bako was moved to come back home for God to use him to revolutionise the village.

Brother Bako started the Bible training with the children of his church, ECWA Garun Kurama, with the approval of his pastor. After sometime, the church could not contain the numbers and sometimes activities at the church would not allow the children to have their program. So, God led him to have a separate place for these special programs. The father of the visioner donated a piece of land to the foundation to build two classes for the training.

Since then, God has been using the ministry to save thousands of children.
